Jenny Gilruth, MSP for Mid Fife and Glenrothes, is encouraging her constituents to consider writing a will as she visited Glenrothes law firm, Rollos.
As statistics from the Financial Times last year found that 64% of Scots do not have a will, the local MSP is encouraging her constituents in Mid Fife and Glenrothes to look into the service to ensure their affairs are secure for their loved ones.
Ms Gilruth discussed the importance of wills with the team at the local law firm, where it was highlighted that making a will can be affordable and easy, ensuring safety and control over your assets in the event of your death.
Following the visit, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:
“After visiting Rollo’s, I understand completely how crucial it is to ensure you have a will in place.
“I would urge constituents, regardless of age, to consider the process of will writing. Following our visit today, I have decided to begin the process myself after learning how important this is for your loved ones.”
A spokesperson for Rollo’s Glenrothes also commented:
“It is vital for everyone to have a will—a will gives you peace of mind that your affairs are in order and that your wishes will be carried out and gives security for your family.
“Having a will prepared is not expensive but without the benefit of a will your estate may not be distributed in the way you would want it to be.
“Additionally it can take much longer and be far more costly to wind up your estate if you don’t have a will in place.”
