JENNY GILRUTH MSP TO HOST MARIE CURIE TEA PARTY
Published date : 28 Aug 2019
Jenny Gilruth MSP has recently announced plans to host her own Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party at Coaltown of Balgonie Bowling Club on Friday 6th September.
The tea party, which is being run in conjunction with the Glenrothes Marie Curie Fundraising Group, will raise money that will help Marie Curie Nurses care for more people living with a terminal illness across the UK.
Taking place on Friday 6th September between 10am and 12pm, there will be teas, coffees and homemade cakes – including a generous cake donation from a local baker. There will also be a tombola and raffle.
Commenting on the upcoming event, the MSP said:
“I am absolutely delighted to be hosting my own Blooming Great Tea Party, with the Glenrothes Marie Curie Fundraising group, this summer in the constituency.
“I am indebted to all the generosity that is being shown surrounding the event – from the Bowling Club hosting for free and providing teas and coffees, to all of those providing cakes for the event.
“Marie Curie is a vitally important organisation that provides crucial care and support for people living with a terminal illness in the UK. Any family who has been affected by cancer will understand the need for charities like Marie Curie – and I am delighted to be raising funds and awareness for such a wonderful organisation in the local community.”
Janet Henry, the Chair of the Glenrothes and area Fundraising Group, added:
“We are delighted that Jenny is holding a Blooming Great Tea Party to raise funds for Marie Curie.
“It’s a great opportunity for the community to get together, enjoy cake and raise money to help Marie Curie nurses continue their work here in Fife.
“Every penny raised helps Marie Curie Nurses be there for more people living with any terminal illness. “
All are welcome at the tea party, and tombola prizes and baking donations would be greatly appreciated. Tombola and baking donations can be dropped off at the constituency office (12 Commercial Street, Markinch).
