MOTION TO CONGRATULATE RACHEL MAIN

Jenny Gilruth MSP has lodged a motion (S5M-06529: “Rachel Main from Glenrothes”) asking the Scottish Parliament to congratulate Rachel Main from Glenrothes on being awarded a scholarship to take part in an MFA Dramatic Writing programme in New York.
The motion text reads:
“That the Parliament congratulates 23-year-old Rachel Main, who is from Glenrothes, on being awarded the annual St Andrew’s Society of the State of New York Scholarship; understands that the $30,000 scholarship will allow Rachel to take part in the MFA Dramatic Writing programme at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts; acknowledges that, before returning to education, she worked as a carer for her mother; commends Rachel on her previous achievements since returning to education, including being named president of the School of Humanities at the University of Dundee, winning a screenplay writing competition and producing a play performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and wishes Rachel every success with her course in New York.”
