Jenny Gilruth MSP has lodged a motion (S5M-06067: “Glenrothes Comic Con”) asking the Scottish Parliament to congratulate the success of the inaugural Glenrothes Comic Con.
The motion text reads:
“That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the inaugural Glenrothes Comic Con, which was held at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes on 10 June 2017 and had 3,000 attendees, a high number of whom purchased advance ticket sales; notes that this inclusive event welcomed people of all ages for a celebration of a wide range of popular culture, such as comic books, video games, anime, artwork and cinema; acknowledges that it raised the profile of Glenrothes, brought visitors to the town centre and helped support the area’s economy, and welcomes the news of the potential for a second convention being held in 2018.”
