MID FIFE AND GLENROTHES MSP CONDEMNS ‘SELFISH’ THIEVES WHO STOLE FROM SCHOOL
Published date : 23 Nov 2016
Mid Fife and Glenrothes MSP Jenny Gilruth has spoken of her concern after a school in her constituency was targeted by criminals for the second time this month.
Police are seeking two men who forced entry to Pitcoudie Primary School shortly after 7am on Sunday and stole nine laptops totaling around £8,100.
Ms Gilruth said: “I was saddened and appalled to hear about the theft of these laptops from Pitcoudie Primary School.
“This is the second crime to have taken place at the school this month following the vandalism of the school garden which is very disheartening for both staff and pupils.
“As the constituency MSP for Glenrothes, I am very concerned about these incidents. I have made contact with the school itself to express my sympathies and I have also been liaising with Police Scotland.
“Following my enquiries I have been advised that the police believe that the two separate incidents are unrelated and I have also been informed that officers investigating the theft of the computer equipment are following a positive line of enquiry.
“In the meantime I would urge anyone in my constituency who has any information to come forward and inform the police immediately so that the culprit(s) of this very selfish act can be caught.”
