Jenny Gilruth MSP launches search for Mid Fife and Glenrothes’s Local Hero
Published date : 28 Jul 2021
For Jenny Gilruth MSP the search is on for a Local Hero in Mid Fife and Glenrothes who has made a positive difference to the lives of others.
From today, Jenny can help ensure one of her constituents receives recognition for the important work they do to help others locally or nationally during the COVID-19 pandemic by nominating them as a Local Hero.
The Opening Ceremony of the Sixth Session of the Scottish Parliament will take place in early October and those nominated by their MSP will contribute to the day.
Launching the search, Jenny Gilruth MSP said:
“I know many people in Mid Fife and Glenrothes give their time and energy selflessly during a very difficult and challenging time, to make a positive contribution to the lives of others – often without recognition.
“Together with my fellow MSPs, we want to celebrate the achievements of our Local Heroes across every constituency and region in Scotland as part of the Scottish Parliament’s Opening Ceremony.
“The strength of our humanity has shone through in all the acts of kindness from individuals, community groups and our local businesses during the Covid pandemic so I am really looking forward to receiving nominations for our Local Hero in Mid Fife and Glenrothes.
“Nominations for our Local Hero can be made by their friends, family or work colleagues, those they have helped or maybe even from potential Local Heroes themselves. If you’ve got a good suggestion, please get in touch.
“As the Sixth Session of the Scottish Parliament gets underway, it is right that the people of Scotland are placed at the heart of our events.”
